Not sure if you're dealing with a limiting core belief? Here's a way to find out.

In order for us to change our core beliefs, we must first recognise that we actually have them, and then be willing to do something about it in order to experience more freedom. Recognising that you are suffering is a first step to lasting change and expansion of your horizon. So how do you recognise that more space could be available for you?

Consider these possible ways that core beliefs can show up in your daily life:
Are there things that you do or don't do, because it seems scary or because it might be painful?
Do you feel that the intensity of your emotions is sometimes not equal to the intensity of the situation?
Do you sometimes have the tendency to hold back when you would actually like to express yourself?
Do you experience trouble with public speaking?

If you know what you believe, and you think that what you believe is absolutely true, you might like to check their unshakability and your willingness to change them with the following questions:
Are there situations in which this belief is not functional, useful or reasonable?
In which circumstances is this belief not true?
When has this belief or thought arisen in me for the first time? Was that perspective ultimately true?
What will it cost me (emotionally, health-wise, financially etc.) if I hold on to this belief?
If I don't abandon this belief, what will be the consequences for my family and those I love?
Does this belief lead to where I want to go in life?
How is this belief potentially holding my growth back?
How will my life be improved if I change this belief now? How would it make me feel?

When our beliefs are untrue, we can also recognise it by not feeling good when it plays out.
